FashCatherine is a UK-based lifestyle website, offering inspiring reviews, thoughtful edits, and lots of opinions. Expect a range of articles, from travel to stylish destinations and food to the latest in fashion and beauty, written (mainly) by me, trained lifestyle journalist Catherine Hudson.

FashBaby, part of the FashCatherine website, specialises in articles about kids’ and parenting lifestyle products, opinion pieces and reviews.

Catherine. A Sunday’s child and true Aries

“Hi, I’m Catherine, a a 32-year-old, Yorkshire born, London-living writer and magazine editor who loves my city but would (usually) rather be abroad exploring and having foreign adventures. I have worked in print and digital parenting lifestyle journalism (travel, fashion, beauty and heath)  for over six years, without, (to my mother’s dismay) having had any children of my own… yet. However, through working in family lifestyle journalism for over six years I have gained plenty of experience in writing about travel, kids’ fashion, women’s fashion, and beauty.”

Want to know more?…

“I started my website as a blog, back in 2009, during a University class that taught us ‘how to set up a blog’. A blog? What was that? In 2009, people still wrote in paper diaries, (I STILL write in mine, #justsaying), Twitter was only just about to go mainstream, Instagram was a twinkle in Silicon Valley’s eye and Apple’s app store was a mere one-year-old. I kept writing my blog after leaving uni, mainly because I love writing, organising and collecting things, all in equal measure, and a blog was a fascinating way of keeping a visual diary.

Having honed my skills on the job over the past near decade, FashCatherine, in it’s new guise, is a place for me to share lifestyle news, reviews and opinions with you, my readers. I have worked through the transition in media, from print dominating through digital content becoming king – let’s see what the next ten years bring.”

My aim is to provide you with professionally researched content designed to help inspire your next adventure – be that eating at a new restaurant in London, trying a new fashion or make up look, enjoying the latest entertaining pop up in your town, visiting a European city for a weekend away, or embarking on a trip to the other side of the world.

FashCatherine editor: Catherine Hudson [Style editor at Gurgle magazine. Previously content editor at Junior magazine and beauty and fashion editor at Prima Baby magazine. View my portfolio]

Editor, Catherine Hudson, is a journalist who has been working in the wonderful world of parenting lifestyle journalism for six years. As a style editor, she has always loved collecting beautiful things and sharing news of her finds. At the same time, she also held the position of content editor for Junior (a luxury family parenting lifestyle website), so this has spilled over onto travel, food and product writing, too. Catherine has been lucky enough to join and write about numerous press trips to far flung places such as Vancouver, Cape Town, Bali and Thailand, and those closer to home such as Mallorca, Costa Navarino, Amsterdam and Berlin.

I’m often asked, how did you find that restaurant or bar, where did you book that holiday and where are you off to next? My love of writing, photography, having adventures and sharing my great finds along the way, all combine to create FashCatherine.” – Catherine Hudson

Catherine has travelled all over the world, to report on destinations – from Bali and Thailand, to Vancouver, Cape Town and all over Europe

FashCatherine beauty and travel contributor: Elizabeth Hudson [National make up artist for bareMinerals, Assistant to bareMinerals‘ International Make up artist, Sarah-Jane Frooms]
Working as a National make up artist for bareMinerals means travelling all over the UK and Europe to attend to the nations’ beauty needs. Elizabeth can find herself prepping the models at QVC in London one day, flying to Italy to present on QVC the next, fly back to Belfast to work at a roadshow the next, and finish the week up on a training course in Newcastle – participating in a social media Q&A along the way… Her role is varied, to say the least, which means she is always kept up to date with the latest beauty buzz. There is nothing she doesn’t know about mineral make up and how to apply it. Elizabeth is currently on maternity leave, having given birth to her beautiful baby daughter Ava Grace in September 2016.
