Fred Perry Spring/Summer 2012 preview

Another glimpse at what will be in store for Spring/Summer 2012 – this time from Fred Perry, and a look at their SS12 Amy Winehouse collection. I hadn’t realised that this had been an ongoing collaboration, but it makes sense seeing as though she was often spotted in the classic Fred Perry look. It is tinged with sadness and will obviously be the last collaborative collection. But Winehouse was apparently really involved in these designs, especially with the comic strip print (seen below on the bag) for which she took artwork to the design team for inspiration. Amy always wore the polo shirts with the collars up, so there are some that have been designed specifically to be worn in that way. I love the deep scoop neck tops and the black and white gingham detail. It has a retro ’50s vibe to it – ballet pumps, pink cropped jacket, hot pants – which would look perfect teamed with a classic Amy-style beehive hairdo.

Check out the AW11 Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry collection online (all royalties from this and the SS12 collections will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation)

This collection is awesome. I agree it is quite sad that it wasn't complete before she past away buy I think Amy was a great musician and a style icon in her own right. From what I can see the range is going to be amazing. I really like the comic strip bag… Do you have any other pictures of the Fred Perry Shoes ? I would love to take a closer look. Thanks, great post
