The first floor at Harvey Nichols had, for today, been turned into a press viewing area for next season’s collections. The area cordoned off was smaller than I was imagining, but nonetheless, there were pieces by Erdem, Louise Goldin, FrostFrench, Meadham Kirchoff, Richard Nicoll and Emma Cook to mention a few. The beauty part, which was a small garden shed decorated inside with perfume samples, had a bottle of the new Balmain fragrance – currently exclusive to Selfridges but coming to Harvey Nichols this summer.
There was lots of embellishment on the clothing, bottle greens, navy and camel (colours which cropped up in abundance at Dunhill press day too). Other common themes were lace trimmings, origami pleats and juliet sleeves.
